Solar Power Information
Basically solar energy is the energy we get from the sun. The sun itself is a vast energy source that has been worshiped, venerated and respected by civilizations even during the dawn of mankind. The ancient Egyptians for example, worshiped the Sun God and this respect is not lost seeing as how the sun gives life and power to all living things in the Earth. Here are some solar power information on why the sun rules. Solar power is free. The sun releases its light an heat every day as it rises in the east. This of course has been happening for millions of years but it is only during the last century that focus on harvesting this seemingly inexhaustible source of power. Solar power systems and kits have been popping up and research has sped up as humans begin to capitalize on the sun's power. Another basic solar power information is that it is environment friendly. Compared to other sources of enfergy like fossil fuel or nuclear energy, solar energy does not have any residue, it does not pollute or give off greenhouse gases. Solar power is also relliable. The sun has been around for millions of years and studies show that it will be around for millions more. Needles to say, the addage "as sure as day" is a certainty, same as the sure fact that the sun will rise the next day. The dependability and relliability of the sun means that as long as the sun shines, consumers can relly on their solar panels to provide or store power and electricity to their homes or offices. Another very reassuiring solar power information is that the sun's power is infinite. Stuidies and research show that the sun emits enough power in a few minutes to power the entire United States for a whole year! Scientists are now searching for ways tp effectively harness and collect this seemingly limitless source of energy. Solar power information on how energy is harnessed from the sun vary. Some of the techniques used is the Rellection Method. This technique involves concentrating the sun's rays on to mirrors and then utlizing the heat emitted for our needs. Mirrors like a parabloic antenna re used to collect and concentrate the sun's rays into a single point. Solar water heaters use a method called Radiation. Layers of glass sandwich painted black pipes where water is heated via the heat of the sun. The solar panels that we commoly see are made up of silicon crystals which get knocked around whenever they are hit by the sun's rays. This activity crates an imbalance of electrons thereby creating a flow or current that can be used or stored in a rechargeable battery. However, these solar power information usually overshadow the high cost of converting to solar energy. Even with the recent advances and discovery in the solar energy field, the cost of switching is still quite high. Solar energy systems available still have some limitations that hinder them from completely powering huge commercial spaces or large areas. Being completely relliable on solar power is also not very practical as there will always be rainy or cloudy days that will impede power production. However, scientists and researchers are not giving up. As solar power information pile up, these people are finding ways to make solar energy more efficient, relliable and effective. So for now, they are expensive but in the future they will be affordable and readily available to all people. |
